How to find an Instagram Reel you saved months ago
Scrolling through Instagram’s Saved tab gets slower every month. The reliable fix is to share Reels to Where Next as you save them. Where Next works out the venue, address and category, so later you can search by what you remember, such as “rooftop bar” or “pottery class”, without knowing the name of the place.
Step by step
- Share each Reel to Where Next when you find it
Tap the Share icon under the Reel and choose Where Next. It takes about ten seconds. The step-by-step guide shows exactly where to tap.
- Let Where Next read it
Where Next pulls out the venue, address, category, tags and opening hours, and keeps the original Reel attached, so you can always see what made you want to go.
- Open Find and type what you remember
Search in your own words: “rooftop bar”, “pottery class”, or “that Japanese place with the omakase”. You don’t need the name of the place.
- Open the result
You’ll see the details Where Next found, the original Reel, and the place on your map, ready to plan.
Where Next can only search Reels you have shared to it. Reels you saved earlier inside Instagram need to be shared to Where Next once before they show up in search.
Common questions
Can Where Next search my Instagram Saved folder automatically?
No. Where Next only knows about Reels you share to it. Share the ones you care about once, and they become searchable.
Do I need to remember the name of the place?
No. Find searches by what you remember, such as a type of place, a cuisine or an activity, using the details Where Next extracted when you saved it.
Does it work for TikTok too?
Yes. TikToks shared to Where Next are saved and searched the same way as Instagram Reels.
